Build a foundation for a lifelong commitment to social activism and grow your Catholic faith through a meaningful year of service in Washington, DC.

DC Service Corps is an 11-month service leadership experience for young adults (ages 21-35) that desire to participate in a Catholic program with a Franciscan heart. With a focus on professional and spiritual development through service in the DC community, DC Service Corps facilitates the integration of faith into all aspects of one's life.

We have opportunities to serve at the FMS headquarters and with partner agencies in a variety of roles. From designing promotional materials as the FMS Communications Associate to connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with important resources to mentoring high school students from families with limited resources, our volunteer opportunities allow you to use your gifts and make a difference.

In addition, all volunteers live in intentional community, pray together, and strive to be witnesses to justice and peace.  Each week, you'll gather for formation sessions on topics including leadership development, spirituality, the Franciscan charism, and more to encourage your holistic growth.

Program Benefits Include:

  • Housing/utilities
  • Monthly stipend
  • Health insurance
  • Weekly formation sessions
  • Three retreats throughout the program year
  • Spiritual accompaniment
  • 10 vacation days and 5 sick days
