Help us reach our goal!

In December, we are striving to raise $30,000 in honor of our 30 years of mission. Donations will support our volunteers and missioners serving in Bolivia, Jamaica, and the United States. Donations will also support the establishment of a new mission site along the U.S.-Mexico Border where we will begin offering pastoral accompaniment to migrants and asylum-seekers in early 2021.  All Giving Tuesday donations will support Casa San Salvador in Washington, DC.

Want your gift to go further? Please consider becoming a monthly donor! By making a regular monthly gift, you can help us continue to bring care and comfort to the aged and the marginalized, the destitute and forgotten.

Gifts can be given in honor of an individual, community, or event. Please indicate this preference (if desired) when submitting your donation.

Matching Gift Program

Many companies match the charitable donations of their employees and retirees. Inquire with your Human Resources Department to see if your employer offers a Matching Gifts Plan. Once the forms are filled out, you can send them with your next gift to FMS.

Planned Gift

You can continue to support Franciscan Mission Service by including FMS in your will or estate plan.  All bequests, big or small, are greatly appreciated and are tax-exempt. If you have already made your will, but want to include Franciscan Mission Service, contact your attorney about adding a codicil. Here are some options:

  • Allocating a percentage of your estate
  • Specifying a fixed-sum or dollar amount
  • Residual bequest – This ensures that after all the specified bequests are made to named recipients, Franciscan Mission Service receives the “residue”, or remaining amount of the estate.
  • Contingent bequest  – A contingent bequest allows FMS to receive certain assets, only if named individuals in your will do not survive you.

You could also donate assets that have appreciated in value.  By doing this, you could receive considerable tax savings, while at the same time giving an immediate and important contribution to support our mission. Examples of such assets include (we do not accept real estate donations):

  • Stocks
  • Bonds
  • Mutual Funds
