New Series: Sacraments and Social Mission

Franciscan Mission Service is beginning a new blog series: Sacraments and Social Mission: Living the Gospel, Being Disciples.

Inspired by Sacraments and Social Mission: Living the Gospel, Being Disciples written by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, this series focuses on the seamless connection between the Sacraments and Mission.

Each week will focus on a specific sacrament (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, Holy Orders).

Our main goals:
Enrich readers’ understanding of the Sacraments by encouraging them to live the Sacraments in their own life
– Invite people committed to social-justice issues to view their service through a dedication to the Sacraments
– Share how all people of faith are called to mission

We’ll be posting series items on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

You’re encouraged to respond to the posts by writing comments and especially by sharing them with others!

We prepare and support lay Catholics for two-year international, one-year domestic and 1-2 week short-term mission service opportunities in solidarity with impoverished and marginalized communities across the globe.

The blog is maintained by the communications staff.
