Prayers for Christmas: Justice and Peace

In today’s Mass readings, we are reminded of a future where “Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.”

Our missioner Catherine Giller echoes this hope in her prayer for Christmas.
“My prayer in this Christmas season is that the true light of the world will shine for all to see and know, that all peoples of the world be united in love and peace, and that ‘we shall study war no more.’

I pray too that we can all be given big hearts for compassion, understanding and sharing.”

Catherine serves in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Part of her ministry of presence is at an after school program at Tiqti Sud which provides lunches and snacks for children in need.
Here she pictured with the children of her Bolivian parish and the creche, or nativity scene, they made last Christmas season.

Check back every day of Advent for a new prayer, and don’t forget to add your prayer for Christmas to our wall!

Catherine Giller is a returned missioner who went on mission twice. She served in Bolivia from 2001 to 2004 and again from 2009 to 2012.
