Day 5: Trust

Day 5 Trust

Editor’s Note: On the fifth day of our Advent blog series, “Following the Holy Family in Solidarity,”  DC Service Corps volunteer Anahi Vega shares a reflection on letting go and trusting God.

Sometimes it’s hard to trust that everything will be okay. Trust that where you are is where you are supposed to be. Trust that God has a plan for you. Trust in God.

Sometimes we go on about our life wanting to take control of everything, and suddenly, anxiety, fear, worry, and stress creep in. Eventually, we realize we actually can’t control everything in our life. Sometimes we think we are letting God take control, but in reality, you’re not letting go of that steering wheel. God can’t fully take control of the wheel if your hands are still trying to steer the wheel another way.

I dare you to let him take control of the wheel. Have him take full control, trust him take full control of your life. God has never left your side, and will never leave your side. He’s there for you. He’s ready to help carry your cross if you let him. Once you surrender, life will feel a bit lighter, you will feel a sense of freedom and things that would normally cause you anxiety or worry will get easier to navigate.

Jesus is King, and we are his princesses and princes, he will always want the best for you. Remember, he’s always been there, by your side even when you thought he wasn’t. He has been with you all this time. Waiting for you to let him take control, to trust him with everything you are, everything you have and everything you will become. Trust in him completely. Surrender yourself to him.

Questions for Reflection: What are you struggling to trust God with in your life? How can you surrender it and let God take control?
