The Light in the Cross

The Light in the Cross by Anahi Vega

Editor’s Note: DC Service Corps volunteer Anahi Vega shares a drawing of a Tau cross and describes the inspiration and meaning behind it.

I was inspired by the Casa’s chapel. There are so many beautiful unique crosses that have a story behind them. I decided to draw a Tau Cross, and in it, a path that leads to light. The sun represents God’s light, our faith. The path represents our journey to sainthood, a path that will eventually lead us to God’s Kingdom.

We can’t live without the sun, without light. Without our faith, we are left in the dark with no sense of direction, no hope or purpose.

I invite you to protect that light that is in each and every one of us. Don’t let it go off, hold on to faith, hope and follow the light. By doing this you will not only get closer to God but you will also be helping those around you without even knowing it.
