OVERSEAS LAY MISSION

Serve in solidarity with poor and marginalized communities in Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean for two to six years. Whatever your gifts or skills, there is a use for them. Potential ministries include health care; social services; pastoral work; community organizing,; education; urban and rural agriculture; and art, music and sports ministries.

Before you go overseas, you’ll spend three months training in Washington, D.C. This intensive formation program is what makes us unique. And after your service you’ll spend three weeks with us on retreat processing your experiences and reflecting on your next steps.

DC SERVICE CORPS

Learn about nonprofits, nurture your faith, deepen your understanding of the Franciscan charism, and serve alongside a marginalized population in the nation’s capital. This unique year-long opportunity for young adults helps them grow as servant leaders and nonprofit professionals as they volunteer full-time in Washington, DC. Participants can serve behind the scenes as an Office Associate or on the front lines of the community through DC Service Corps. Both program arms include intentional community and spiritual development.
