Encountering God in Onions

During their three months of formation, missioners-in-training spend one morning a week serving in the Washington, D.C. community. Annemarie Barrett of Mission Class 28 reflects on how she encountered God while volunteering at the Father McKenna Center this fall.

On January 16, Annemarie will leave for Bolivia to begin her two years of mission and solidarity with the people of Cochabamba.

To join Annemarie in her work, please make a donation to Franciscan Mission Service this season.

From St. Paul, Minnesota, Annemarie graduated from Loyola University in Chicago in 2012 with a degree in Communication Studies. Possessing a strong interest in social justice issues and some experience with international travel, she began her service in Bolivia in January 2013.
